This is the Agavoni. The love child of the negroni’s drunken night in Acapulco. It was the tipping point for me in a Thursday evening of wine, vermouth, beer and cocktails.
Concocted by Ben, it’s equal parts tequila, Aperol and sweet red vermouth, shaken and garnished with citrus rind or cherry.
There was a time a few years ago that the group of friends I passed this night with would gather like this almost weekly. And like those nights of yore, tonight was packed with ridiculous laughs shared over good food and multiple drinks. I didn’t realize how much I missed nights like this.
