One of my favourite things to do at a bar is put myself in the hands of an enthusiastic bartender. Figuratively. Get your minds out of the gutter!

This usually works out well for me and I highly recommend it. Tonight, Jake at Linwood Essentials seemed up to the task. So I gave him some guidelines — citrusy but not sour; Campari not Fernet bitter — and let him have at it.

This as-yet unnamed delight was the spontaneous result. A mix of gin, coffee infused Campari, lemon and simple syrup, this cocktail hit all the right notes.
