If you’re looking for a way to unleash your inner Mexican, the LCBO is throwing a Cinco de Mayo party at The Drake Hotel. Price of admission includes 4 cocktail samples and 4 food samples. See you there, vatos!
This dangerous little beauty is the brunch punch from Geraldine. She may not be especially boozy, but she’s so tasty you could down a pitcher on a sunny patio all by yourself.
The sweet and spicy Tom Yum Booze at DaiLo is the perfect cocktail for this inhuman cold snap. Take that “burst of Siberian air”!
Finally stopped by La Cubana on Roncy. Besides a sampling of delicious food, I tried the Periodista, made with white rum, Triple Sec and apricot. It definitely made me wish for warmer weather. And palm trees. And the ocean. Sigh…
I used to hate beer. Mainly because the draft at Calgary’s National Hotel was my first. And like so many terrible first time stories, this one left scars. Then I taught myself to tolerate beer through things like Mill St. Organic and wheat beers. Then I discovered Belgian style brews, chocolaty porters and this glass of gorgeousness. Innis & Gunn make many fine beers, but the rum finish is probably my favourite. Between this and Hendricks gin, my love for Scotland has grown exponentially.
